Tactile Jewelry

Uli Rapp's collection consists of screen-printed textile jewlery constructed using fabric and rubber. Fabric gives the pieces tactility and their special movement ( the technique was developed and perfected during her master-studies ).

Giving a 3-dimensional shape to screen-printed tromp l'oeil jewels was the idea when Uli started to design her pieces in 2002. The rich textile history and ornaments has since then been the main source of inspiration for her work. She follows closely the newest techniques in textile technology but also uses very old fashioned work methods in her studio in Amsterdam. The actual process of making the jewelry is very important to her and has resulted in beautiful collections that have become even more detailed and refined than in the past.
